If you're fortunate enough to be traveling to a tropical location
this summer, or even a mini road trip to a nearby state, you
don't want things to be ruined because you forgot to pack your
favorite dress or comfortable pair of sandals. There are certain
items that you shouldn't travel without, and we've created a list
so you're on top of what you need to make room for in your
suitcase. Remember this is a basic checklist, each women is
different and may need different things. Packing three days
before will give you enough time to remember things you might
have forgotten.
1. Four Pairs of Shoes - Make sure to pack your best walking
shoes, pretty sandals, beach flip flops and dress shoes. If you
are the type of woman who loves her heels, those dress shoes
can be your stylish stilettos. But make sure to bring gym shoes
too. You don't want your feet to get sore from walking in poor
shoes the entire trip.
2. Layered Clothing - The weather can be drastically
unpredictable. You don't want to be that person who forgot her
sweatshirt and is shivering at night when it gets a little chillier
than usual. A light jacket is extremely helpful, and it's perfect for
an airplane ride too.
3. Technology Chargers - You're probably thinking, I'm not
going to forget my cell phone, lap top, iPod or camera. But the
real mistake comes when your forget to pack your chargers.
Sure you can use all those items for the first couple days, but
once the battery life runs out, you're in deep trouble.
4. Outfits: Dressy, Basics and Swimwear - Grab your go-to
dress, your skinny jeans and favorite tank. Or maybe it's your
mini-skirt, off-the-shoulder top and leggings. Whatever fancier
clothes you love, you're going to need for a vacation. Having
just a few dressier items, and a bunch of basics (solid color
tanks, shorts and jeans), will give you a variety of outfits. If
you're going somewhere warm, pack up your bathing suit too!
5. Best Bra - Bring your nude-colored bra, and make it a
comfortable one. Pack an extra one too, either in black or white.
If you're on a romantic trip with your significant other, a pink
lacy bra is practical, but not if you're on an adventurous trip in
the Rocky Mountains. When in doubt, stick to your basic bra,
and pack an extra bikini top if all else fails.
6. Hair Straightener - We don't care if you're going to
Antarctica or Africa, a hair straightener is exactly what you need
to calm any flyways or eliminate mega-frizz. It can add waves or
make your sleek and shiny.
7. Tampons - Most of us have an idea of when are period is
on the way, but it's possible for your body to switch things up a
bit, especially when you're in a foreign place. If you have a
brand that you swear by, pack a box of them in your suitcase.
Better safe than sorry.
8. An Extra Purse - Zippers break, drinks spill. Instead of
having to purchase a new, and potentially pricey bag, pack an
additional purse just in case something happens to the one
you've been using.
9. Makeup and Jewelry - Whatever makeup you'd normally
pack in your purse or would wear on is safe to pack for vacation.
Add in a necklace or two, a pair of earrings and a bracelet. You
want to be able to dress up your outfits at night and leave them
bare for the day.
10. Towels - Are you staying with friends? Probably not, so
make sure to pack a towel or two. Your hotel might not have the
best towels for use, so bringing a few from home is a safe
gamble.
